1. The Old Mill Restaurant
For a classic southern meal, you have to try The Old Mill Restaurant. It’s right down the road from us, and the building overlooks the Pigeon River. Breakfast is a huge meal with choices of biscuits, muffins, eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, and more. You also will find a huge selection for lunch and dinner, from country fried steak to chicken and dumplings. If you find something delicious and you want to take it home, you can! The General Store and Farmhouse Kitchen next door have mixes you can make at home for many of the menu items.
2. Old Mill Pottery House Café
Looking for more of a quaint place to dine? Head across the road from the Old Mill to The Pottery House Café and Grille. They offer different specials every day and serve meals on hand-made pottery that is created in the Old Mill Pigeon River Pottery store next door. When you walk in the door, freshly baked breads and desserts greet you, and you can buy these delicious treats to take home. The food has southern roots with a modern flair that will keep you coming back for more. When it’s warm out, you can even sit out back on the patio next to the small pond.
3. Bennett’s Pit Bar-B-Que
If you want a taste of true southern barbeque, head over to Bennett’s Pit Bar-B-Que. Almost every meat served is basted in Bennett’s special sauce then smoked over hickory wood for 14 hours. You’ll find all the classics, from fried pickles to pulled pork sandwiches to baby-back ribs. Want to take a meal back to the condo or on a picnic up in the mountains? Bennett’s has Your Favorites where you can choose your meats by the pieces and sides by the pints or gallons. If you want something already put together, grab a Family Feast that includes sides and meats for a family of 4 or 6.

At Mama’s Farmhouse, you won’t find a traditional restaurant style where you all order individual meals. Everything here is served family style, so you’ll feel like you’re eating at home. The meal is all you can eat, so if you want more of a specific dish, all you have to do is ask! Breakfast includes biscuits, waffles, sausage, eggs, cheese grits, and more.
