If you find yourself missing the Smokies and wishing you could be in the area, there’s a way you can feel like you’re here– webcams! You’ll find many places that provide a live feed of different parts of the Smokies so you can enjoy the beautiful mountains from home until you’re able to come back. Discover some of the best Smoky Mountain webcams to watch when you miss the Smokies:

1. Newfound Gap

Want to have incredible mountain views from the lowest drivable pass in the Smoky Mountains? You should watch the Newfound Gap webcam. It’s located right on the state line between Tennessee and North Carolina along the road that connects Gatlinburg and Cherokee. Newfound Gap Road actually helped the Great Smoky Mountains National Park operate without an entrance fee. When Tennessee turned over the road, they had one exception; the government couldn’t impose tolls on people who used the road.

2. Look Rock

Another great Smoky Mountain webcam to watch while you’re at home is Look Rock. You’ll have an incredible view of valleys and mountains you won’t want to stop looking at! Look Rock is located along the Foothills Parkway, and if you want to admire this view in person, you can climb the 0.5 mile trail to the lookout point. Take a picnic lunch for the best afternoon experience!

3. Purchase Knob

On the North Carolina side of the Smokies, you can watch a webcam that is set up at Purchase Knob located in the eastern part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Another overlook you can hike to, this beautiful viewpoint offers stunning views of foliage in the fall and snow-covered peaks in the winter!

4. Kuwohi (Formerly Clingmans Dome)

The Kuwohi webcam features a stunning live feed at the tallest point in the national park. You’ll be able to see for miles, and it’s a great way to experience the views from the observation tower without leaving the couch! Plus, the road to Kuwohi closes in the winter which makes it more difficult to see these views in person, especially when it snows.

5. Gatlinburg Space Needle

Do you love downtown Gatlinburg? You can see it, even at home! There’s a Smoky Mountain webcam at the top of the Gatlinburg Space Needle. Get a great view of downtown Gatlinburg and watch people walk along the sidewalks. You can see almost every part of the downtown strip, as well as the entrance to the national park. You can even choose which way the camera faces, so have fun exploring the area on the webcam you get to control!

6. Ober Mountain

Ober Mountain also has a couple of webcams set up. One of them faces toward downtown Gatlinburg from Ober, giving you a great view of the mountains. Their other webcam is set up so you can watch people come down the hill from skiing and snowboarding, riding the zipline, and much more. It’s a ton of fun to watch people enjoy themselves!
