One of the awesome benefits about staying at Cherokee Lodge Condos is our ideal location in Pigeon Forge! We are not only within minutes of Dollywood and The Island in Pigeon Forge, but also within walking distance of the hub for the Pigeon Forge Trolley! This trolley system provides convenient transportation all around town for just a nominal fee! Here is everything you need to know about riding the Pigeon Forge Trolley:
1. Route Details
The Pigeon Forge Trolley originates and ends at the Trolley Station on Old Mill Drive, which is next to Patriot Park and just around the corner from Cherokee Lodge Condos! There are currently 6 routes in operation including Dollywood, Dollywood’s Splash Country, North Parkway, South Parkway, Gatlinburg Welcome Center and Wears Valley Road. Altogether, there are more than 200 official stops in Pigeon Forge, as well as select locations in Gatlinburg and Sevierville. To find a stop, just look for a trolley bear sign or a trolley shelter! Many folks enjoy taking the trolley to Dollywood for the convenience of being dropped off at the front gate, not to mention it is much cheaper than parking in Dollywood’s parking lot! If you are interested in visiting Gatlinburg, you can take the trolley non-stop from Old Mill Drive to the Gatlinburg Welcome Center. From there, you can transfer to the Gatlinburg Trolley System to visit Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, Ober Gatlinburg and other popular attractions.
2. Fares and Schedules
The Pigeon Forge Trolley runs on a daily basis except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The service operates from 8 a.m. to midnight from March through October, and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from November through December. The fare for each route is just $1 per person, which applies each time that you board the trolley. The Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country routes are $2.50 per person. Children who are 3 years old and younger can ride the trolley for free with an adult! Please note that the trolley drivers can only accept the exact fare and cannot make change. If you are planning on taking several trips, the best deal is the All Day Pass for only $3 per person. These passes can only be purchased at the Pigeon Forge Trolley Office and are only valid for use on the Pigeon Forge Fun Time Trolleys.
3. Paratransit Service Information
All of the Pigeon Forge Trolley vehicles are lift equipped for wheelchairs and other mobility aids, and all trolley stops are ADA accessible. If you are unable to get to a designated trolley stop, you may schedule a paratransit van for a next-day pickup by calling 865-453-6444. The paratransit van service is a direct service for any mobility impaired person staying at Cherokee Lodge Condos or anywhere else within the city limits of Pigeon Forge. The paratransit fee is only $1 per person each way, and one personal care attendant can ride for free while accompanying the passenger with limited mobility.
