1. Free Easter Egg Hunts
Don’t miss the chance to bring the kids to some of the area’s free Easter egg hunts! The Bruce Street Gazebo in the Commons, near Sevierville’s historic courthouse and iconic Dolly Parton statues, serves as center stage for their annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 12. Kids crafts and story time will also be available at this free event! Welcoming kids up to 10 years old, the hunt starts promptly at 10 AM and will be followed by a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny! The Pigeon Forge Parks & Recreation presents their annual Easter Egg Hunt at Wear Farm City Park on April 19 from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. The event takes place at staggered start times across four baseball fields, each of which has been designated for specific age groups. This morning of fun also includes inflatables, a free raffle, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny!
2. Bunner Hopper Express Easter Train
Another one of the egg-cellent ways to celebrate Easter in Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains is with a ride on the Bunny Hopper Express Easter Train! This 4.5-hour round trip special event train is operated by the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad and departs from their historic Bryson City Depot at 11 AM. You’ll travel through the Smokies before arriving at a beautiful layover destination with Easter-themed activities and an egg hunt! The festivities include a giveaway bag with activities to enjoy during the train ride and a yummy Easter treat for junior railroaders to enjoy at the layover! Be sure to be on the lookout for those train-hopping bunnies who have snuck on to take a free ride! While Bryson City is about a 90-minute drive south of Pigeon Forge; half the fun is getting there along the scenic Newfound Gap Road!
3. Easter Sunrise Services
Join a memorable Easter Sunrise service that is enhanced by the stunning beauty of the Smoky Mountains! Ober Mountain's Annual Easter Sunrise Service begins at 6:30 AM and is led by local pastors of the Gatlinburg Ministerial Association. Ober will provide guests with free Aerial Tram rides to the mountaintop beginning at 5 AM and continuing until the service begins at 6:30 AM. Complimentary parking will be provided for those who prefer to drive up the mountain. The Gatlinburg SkyPark will also be offering an Easter Sunrise service at 7:15 AM, a free event where guests can enjoy the SkyPark at no cost, watch the sunrise from the top of Crockett Mountain, and hear a brief gospel presentation. The loading of the SkyLift will begin at 6:15 AM, and the SkyPark will be open after the service for those who attended the service.
