If you’ve got chocolate, taffy and fudge on the brain, the only solution is a trip to the Country Candy Kitchen. Located minutes away from our condos in Pigeon Forge, TN, the Country Candy Kitchen is a family owned business run by Pigeon Forge natives Marcia and Howey Reagan. With a combined total of nearly forty years in the candy business, the Reagans have made the Candy Kitchen a fixture of Pigeon Forge’s famous Parkway.

Salt Water Taffy

One of the Country Candy Kitchen’s specialties is salt water taffy. Although salt water taffy has been a popular treat in the Smoky Mountains since the 1950s, it originated in the Northeast in the late 1800s. The term salt water taffy was coined in Bradley’s Candy Store in Atlantic City, New Jersey after an ocean wave crashed through his store. The day after the flood, a customer asked an exasperated Bradley whether he had any taffy. Bradley sarcastically replied “Yes, I have salt water taffy”. Bradley’s mother took a liking to the phrase, and national candy phenomenon was born. Today, the Country Candy Kitchen makes fresh salt water taffy every day.

Fudge and More

In addition to their famous taffy, the Country Candy Kitchen also makes their own fudge in old fashioned copper kettles. Made from original recipes, their fantastic fudge comes in a variety of flavors including a new marble variety. The Country Candy Kitchen also offers hand dipped chocolates, peanut brittle, rock candy, caramel apples, pecan logs, pralines, sugar free candies and much more.
