A winter vacation is the perfect time to make some seasonal treats! All of our condos in Pigeon Forge come with fully furnished kitchens, so you and your kids will have everything you need to spend the day mixing, baking and (of course) eating. Every Cherokee Lodge property comes with ovens, refrigerators, ice makers, and dishwashers. There is no need to bring your dishes from home because your condo’s cabinets will be stocked with clean plates, bowls, utensils and glass sets. Also, don’t worry about bringing pots, plans or cooking knifes, because Cherokee Lodge has got you covered! We’ve put together a list of the top winter treats to make with your family:
1. Sweet Tortilla Snowflakes
Your kids will love creating their own edible snowflakes! To make this simple dessert, fold a warm flour tortilla in half and cut out a design, as if you were making a paper snowflake. Then brush the snowflake with vegetable oil, bake it for about 4 minutes at 400 degrees and add confectioners’ sugar after you remove the tortilla from the oven.
2. Hot Chocolate Mug Cakes
Fill an oven safe mug with your favorite chocolate cake batter and follow the baking instructions on the package. Once the cake has cooled for 15 minutes, add a large spoonful of marshmallow creme to complete this delicious treat.
3. Frosty the Bagel
This is a healthy snack or lunch your children can make themselves. Cover half a mini bagel with cream cheese and make a snowman’s face using fresh veggies. You can use olives for eyes, a carrot for a nose, and red pepper slices for the mouth. Buy a variety of vegetables, and let your kids’ creativity run wild!
Making these recipes is the perfect way to spend a wintry day at Cherokee Lodge. With fully equipped kitchens, gas fireplaces, in room jacuzzis and high speed internet, our condos in Pigeon Forge have the best amenities in the Smokies. Visit our Condos page to see all of our amazing properties!
